Why I'm not wishing away 2017
So in just over 2 weeks, 2017 will wrap up and 2018 will be here.
Usually, any other year I'd be excited to turn over the new leaf, start a new year, gain a new intentional word and start living in that year. This year is different. This year I want to ABSORB every last second of this year.
It wasn't that 2017 was the best year of my life because I'd have to say 1984 (I was born), 2004 (I met Shayne), 2008 (Carter was born), 2012 (Nora was born), 2013 (marriage) and 2014 (although one of my hardest years, I learned the most).
2017 was a great year.
It was a year my family kicked off or New Years eve watching the sun set on our local beach. Followed by watching Fire Works from our front patio in Bejuco, Costa Rica. It was a year where my family, traveled with our hearts leading us. It was a year that brought us closer than ever.
It was a year that I was evolving and learning constantly, as every year is, now that I think about it. It was a year that I TRUSTED myself MORE than ever! It was a year where I could honestly speak my truth and know it was coming from my heart center and not my head. It was a year that I gained a connection to Mother Nature on a deeper level, unlike anything before.
It was a year that I said "What's the worse case scenario?" - and DID IT ANYWAY!
It was a year that showed me, that slowing down isn't loosing momentum and that looking back isn't a step back.
It was a year that I don't want to wish a way.
This year has had many highs and many lows, many ups and many downs, as every year does. I also feel this year brought more presence of the moment to me and other members in the Alive family.
As I look back on my 2017 goals, I have hit nearly all of them.
And the ones I didn't hit, in the end, they weren't for me.
Moving forward in 2018, I'm excited. I'm excited for each day I get to wake up, kiss and hug my children, send love to others, share and inspire my fitness passion to YOU and other women and am excited to live a life FULLY ALIVE!
So, as I may seem resistant or not "GEARING UP" for the new year, please know I'm giving myself the moment to enjoy the last 365 days of 2017 and show it the gratitude it truly deserves.
